Configuring IIS AppPools when hosting DNN and non-DNN ASP.Net sites

Could I get some guidance from the group on what the ideal configuration is when trying to host DNN and non-DNN sites on the same Windows 2003 server?   It is a VPS on Godaddy and right now, all my websites are using the "DefaultAppPool" using all the default settings.

My questions specifically are:

What Application Pool changes (if any) are recommended to make DNN run faster -- and should I have a separate app pool for non-DNN sites with different settings?

I never touched this before because, "if it aint broke don't fix it" - and it ain't broke - and also because I used to have everything almost exclusively on DNN.  Now that that's changing, I'm wondering if I can make things run a little faster without sacrificing stability.

Thanks in advance for your help.
