AJAX - How do I get it working

I have 2 DNN sites - a TEST environment and a STAGE one.

Both the TEST & STAGE ones are running DNN 4.8.2.

I have written a simple module that does a currency conversion and I have set the "<supportspartialrendering>" to True.

I have also set the Enable AJAX? in the Host settings to True in both TEST & STAGE .

The module works via AJAX in the TEST environment - I see the AJAX progress bar working in the module and there is no page refresh.

However in STAGE , AJAX is not working - I get a page refresh and no AJAX progress bar!

So am I missing something on my STAGE environment?

Is there another setting I need to switch on to enable AJAX?

Do I need to copy any AJAX files to the STAGE environment?

If so which files and where do they go?

Any help would be VERY gratefully received as this is driving me NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: AJAX - How do I get it working

Checking the host settings again, the only difference I can find is that the STAGE environment has the "Web Farm Enabled" set to True, whereas in the TEST environment this is set to False.

Would this make a difference?

I have also tried clearing the cache in the Performance Settings.

In the TEST environment, even updating settings of modules etc uses AJAX and I can see the AJAX progress bar.

BUT on STAGE this simply does NOT work.

HELP!!!

Re: AJAX - How do I get it working

Come on guys, there must be someone out there who could at least give me some pointers as to where to start fixing this issue?

Am I the only one who has had this problem?

Please help, show me just how good this community is!

Cheers,

Rich

Re: AJAX - How do I get it working

Do you know what I got all excited just now when I saw that there were 4 posts on this thread.

Yipeee I thought someone was going to point me in the right direction.

But, alas no. Looks like there is a bug in the forum module where it reports 4 posts even though there are 3.

So, I'll try once more (Nope, I don;t give up that easily), can anyone give me some idea's as to why I cannot get AJAX enabled on my STAGE environment?

Do I need to install AJAX on this server or are all the necessary files part of the 4.8.2 upgrade package?

Your thoughts please.

Cheers,

Rich.

Re: AJAX - How do I get it working

Just so you don't feel alone ...

Verify the module has "supports partial rending" enabled (checked) in the module defiintion for the view page (or whichever page) on both your servers.

As for AJAX support depends on what version of the OS you are using ... but you can always install it to be safe.

Hope this helps.
Paul.
