Know the password encryption method?

OK so  I'm sure this is not the first posting about "crap, how do I retrieve the username and password from the database cos I don't know what they are".

I have installed a sort of custom DNN with files and database on a hosting server.  All looks fabulous in terms of the install connectivity to the db and even viewing the site - problem is, the folks that sent me this sort of slightly "custom" (basically DNN just coupe extra modules thrown in) DNN seem to have given me the wrong admin username and password for the site - so I basically have everything working except now I can' t login.  I can obviously see the uname and password in the db but they are encrypted and I don't know what encryption is being used.

Oh wise DNN Gods - anyone know how I can retrieve username and password in this situation?  (Decrypt somehow?)

Dave

Re: Know the password encryption method?

-- Register as a new user.

-- Open the Membership table and the copy the Password and PasswordSalt from the new user to the Admin and Host users.

Now you can login as Host/Admin using the password you set for the new user, and then you can update each one through the program to what you want.
