I've had the same problem with Catalook. This is how I solved it.

In storesettings of Catalook I unchecked the "Enable Ajax" checkbox. Then the problem was solved.

My pages loaded much faster. And I didn't had to hit twice anymore on my checkout and update button to take any effect.

This might have something to do with caret browsing

Click F7 to toggle on off in Mozillla based browsers
