I am so new at this that I might make a few people smile. I just bought DotNetNuke for dummies (R) and I am trying to put together all the bits of software that I need to get started. I am on a limited budget and am looking for Windows Server 2003. However, there seems to be tons of different versions and the prices can be astronomical. Can any one help me to start this up? I only need to set up two websites for myself and although I need a merchant site to sell my art and a community site for a project that I run... I am self employed and pretty much a one woman band company.

So far I have only downloaded Microsoft SQL Express, FileZilla and ASP.NET 2.0. I am not a teckie although I have build websites in the context of a previous employment more as an admin and content manager though.

Thank you very much for your answer. I am already with 1&1 and I already have a website. What I am looking at is transferring or maybe doing a brand new one and staying with 1&1 unless it turns out difficult to do what I want. If I don't actually need to have this expensive piece of software, how do I do this transfer.... or create my website with DotNetNuke onto 1&1?

My initial website was done by a website designer with dreamweaver and I didn't have the option to amend it myself so it's very stale and every time I want something done I hear the till ringing and it puts me off updating it. I also want to have a blog and an online community so DotNetNuke seemed perfect for that.
