Site search does work

I am starting this as a new thread as I haven't bee able to resolve it.  The site search feature does not work.  I have checked the host > schedule and and the searcher task is shown there as the search engine scheduler task and the text/html mod supports the ISearchable interface.  I'm running a clean install of 4.8.2.  I would like for the user to be able to use this control as intended with a site search or changing over to search the web. The only thing I changed is the default pub id in the resx files for my google id instead of the deault.  Are there any other hidden codes or id's in this version that would effect this?  What would be the other files effected with the search control and could they be over written in the core code to be restored.  I would even use a third party control if it will interface with DNN.

I really would appreciate any help with this as it the last hurdle I need to clear before the site goes live.

Re: Site search does work

Andrew,

  • does search work for you or not? ;-)
  • did you check whether the search tables get populated?
  • did you try to clear search tables (see http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/tabid/134/Default.aspx) and re-index?
  • did you place more than one search results module in your portal (including recycle bin!)
