Advanced Settings won't stay open

Hi,

Got a major problem that is scaring the bejeepers out of me.

I can't change any advamce settings for either modules or pages. When I go into Settings, click the Advanced Settings (to change the skin/container) it opens up for about 2 seconds then once the page has fully reloaded it closes again.

This is as you can imagine quite a worry.

I can't think of any reason as to why it should suddenly change like this.

Please help.

Thanks

DNN 4.8.3

Re: Advanced Settings won't stay open

Update: it is only one one machine that this is happening on. Will reboot and see if that fixes it. Very weird - guess I am just having one of those days

Re: Advanced Settings won't stay open

I've got the same issue too and made a post on 23rd June, but got no fix suggestions.

Did the reboot fix the issue?  I've rebooted several times to no avail.

Are you using McAfee by any chance?  I believe I have pinpointed the issue to an update they produced within the last 2 -3 weeks.  I've written to McAfee but so far haven't had a reply.

Did you find a fix by chance?

Re: Advanced Settings won't stay open

Hi,

No rebooting doesn't work, but I have found a fix. Being such a critical problem I was suprised that it wasn't affecting more people. I think most people use Fire Fox as their browser. I tried FF and it works fine. Thus suggesting that actually it is an IE problem.

The one computer that I have that it works fine on is still using ie 6.

Yes, I do have McAfee and I also thought it was due to McAfee but the fact that it works in FF shows it must be an IE issue.

It has been very worrying, as it is impossible to manage your site without being able to expand settings.

Liz
