One IP address and several domains on one install of DNN on the server

Hi All,

what should I set on the default.aspx so that if I have one IP address and several domains on one install of DNN on the server. Example:

IP Address: 000.00.00.000
Main Portal: www.main-portal.com
Sub Portal 1: www.sub-portal-1.com
Sub Portal 2: www.sub-portal-2.com

What do I have to do so that I do not get the extra directory name main/sub1/sub2
www.main-portal.com\main\
www.sub-portal-1.com\sub1\
www.sub-portal-2.com\sub2\

Thanks,
Mahesh

Each of the site's portal aliases need to be updated, as well as the header information in IIS.

Basic use of portals does this, no modifications to the Default.aspx.

Use parent portals.

First of all thanks for your replay...

FYI

The directory structure of web site is as follows.

www.main-portal.com points (Local Path in IIS) to a directory main-portal which contains a sub diretory DNN with all the contents (.aspx and .ascx) of DotNetNuke.

Now is it possible to achive aforementioned result through updating portal alias and header information in IIS???

Thanks,
Mahesh

Re: One IP address and several domains on one install of DNN on the server

Yes.  As said earlier, just change the portal aliases to match the expected URL.  Then, also add the sites and/or virtual directories in IIS.  The thing is though, that all of the sites and virtual directories would all point to the same directory.  After IIS points the site to the right place, DNN will take over using the Header information from the HTTP request.

I should point out though that you wouldn't necessarily need a separate site entry for each URL.  You could pull this off by simply putting the various headers into a single IIS site entry.
