Brain Teaser

At least it is teasing the crap out of mine!!

I have the permissions on a page set to view only for a certain role.  I then have the permissions set to view AND edit on an Xmod module and a text/html module on that page. This works perfectly on my development site (DNN 4.5.5) but on a site I am helping someone with (DNN 4.8.4) neither of the action menu's will show up.

I've thought of everything I can think of, and it's probably something stupid, but I'm tapped out of ideas.

Anyone have any clues?

Re: Brain Teaser

make sure, control panel is enabled for module editors in Site Settings in order to be able to switch to edit view.

Re: Brain Teaser

Thanks Sebastian

I ended up finding the problem but I don't like the answer.  It took me forever to find it as I use DNN 4.5.5 and I'm helping out on a site using 4.8.4.  In 4.5.5 module editors could see the action menu's without having the DNN control panel at the top. This is what the site admin I'm helping wants so as to reduce confusion for his end users.

Is there any way to make 4.8.4 perform like this?  If not what is the last DNN version that allowed module editors to see the action menu's without showing the DNN control panel at the top??
