Javascript and DNN

Hey,

Im having a little hiccup with javascript here http://www.nzgallery.co.nz/mahobe/Default.aspx?TabID=13621&LangID=0

I copied and pasted exactly the same code from here for example http://www.mahobe.co.nz/calculators/circles.htm

But none of the calculaters work in DNN.....
Could anybody shed some light on this please?

Cheers

Abbey

Re: Javascript and DNN

Hi Abbey,

The DNN page is already a form and you can't have another form tag inside a form. There are form designer modules, but the quickest way to get a form like your example onto a page is to put it on a static page and use the iframe module to view it.

Let me know on our email if you need help with that.

Re: Javascript and DNN

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your feedback. Ho could you make a static page on a DNN server. Id prefer to not call in iframes etc but just link directly to a html page on the server and cut out the intermediate bit of the iframe. Do you know if this is possible? I have numerous portals and am not sure,...could i go into the portal folder and create a normal html file to link to?

Actually thinking about that I can pull this in from an Iframe following this.....

Looking forward to your response about the normal HTML page

Re: Javascript and DNN

You can create and upload a static page to your portal folder (use the DNN Admin, File manager for this) and link to it with http://domain.com/portals/portalID#/pagename.htm

However, if the page is intended to look like it's part of the same site then I'd still use the DNN iframe module and display it in that.

The portalID# is the number of the folder that the portal resides in. In the case of the one I've been helping you with, that's 191.. so: http://domain.com/portals/191/pagename.htm
