Create extra panes

Hi all,

I think this is a simple question, but sadly google wasn't much help.  Basically how do i create a custom pane? ie I have top, bottom, left, right, content panes, but i need to add another to this.

Si

Re: Create extra panes

you need to alter the skin used on your site, please refer to the skinning guide (available from Resources > Documentation > Downloads in the site menu above) for details.

Re: Create extra panes

Hi, the documentation was the first place i looked but i couldn't find it in there.  I dont want to know how to add panes to a page i want to know how to create extra ones other than top, bottom, left, right, and content.  If your sure it's in there could you tell me what it is i'm looking for exactly.  Such as the files that need modifying.  I could probably work it out from that.

Re: Create extra panes

This is the basic hack... Go to the skin's folder and look in the ascx file that is your current skin. Look for the div or td tag that has id="contentpane" in it. Note that it also has runat="server" in the same tag.

A pane is just that.. a td or div with id="pane-name" runat="server" in it. Create a new one with any name you like and it will appear on the panes dropdown for that page.
