Stopping auto email when user added to security role

Is it possible to stop the automatic User Account Update email when a user is added to a security role automatically after registration?

I know this can be done manually by unchecking the Send Notification? checkbox, but can I have this checkbox unchecked by default?

Paul

If simply unchecking the checkbox will do for you all I did was edit the form control for this page.

The file is called SecurityRoles.ascx and it is located in the ...admin\Security directory of your DNN installation.

In my instance it is line number 49 and it looks like this:
<asp:checkbox id="chkNotify" resourcekey="SendNotification" runat="server" cssclass="SubHead" text="Send Notification?" textalign="Right" Checked="True"></asp:checkbox>

Simply change "Checked="True" to "Checked="False".

Keep in mind that anytime you update your DNN Version this will be reset.

Hope this is what you needed.

Re: Stopping auto email when user added to security role

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the input. That certainly unchecked the box. I had hoped that would be enough to stop the User Account Update email, but they still go out.

The situation occurs when people purchase a downloadable product using Catalook, it is set to assign the user the role of customer for 30 days. However the User Account update email comes from the DNN admin email account, leading me to believe that it is DNN sending out the emails and not Catalook.

Any ideas.
