How to add datagrids ect.

Hello,

Not sure where to start with this one. But I'm not much of a VB programmer and I'm try to figure out how the app works. I fully proficient in creating a site with SQL connections for display customer data ect but we needed a more professional look. But I need to add pages that include data grids ext but I'm not quite sure how to because the pages displayed in VWD are not what I am used to seeing. In other words I don't see the HTML mark up when I open default.aspx all I see is pointer to a form. I'm not quite sure how to create my own pages (not with the copy pages function of Dot Net Nuke) but designing my one pages that include the format of our default page.

Make sense?

Thanks

It sounds like you need to create your own module to display your content in. Take a look at Brian Dukes' presentation from Tulsa Techfest or the Module Development Guide to get started.

Re: How to add datagrids ect.

There are numerous third party modules available for you to create db output with; check Snowcovered.  Personally, I use NukeDK/ListX and am very happy with the output and the ability to customize the look and feel of the result set.

Re: How to add datagrids ect.

Mylu,

You may also want to take a look at SQLGridSelectedView ... this module allows you to define SQL selects and format that resulting grid display.  See www.tressleworks.ca  Also look at SQLView from www.DnnStuff.com

Hope that helps
Paul
