Deployment - Specific Questions

Hi,

I have read all the posts on deployment, moving from dev to production etc.  I still have some questions and I would really appreciate if someone can answer them.

  1. Move from Dev to Prod:
    1. Which specific files and folders should I move to production?
    2. How do I make changes/additions in dev and then update the production with only the changes made in dev?

Thanks

Sajjad

Re: Deployment - Specific Questions

I normally move the whole DNN folder to the production the first time round. Move the DB, Adjust connection string in web.config, mirror my IIS details and brows. With changes to the development, I then need to move any component that would have been changed to the production and follow similar steps I take in development.

Re: Deployment - Specific Questions

Ok.. I tried that... I am getting the following error:

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

[MESSAGE]

I did make sure that the connection string was updated to the new database.  Any ideas.

Your folder should also have full control given to network services
