Shaun Walker please, or anybody...
Modified By Chas on 6/23/2006 10:50:54 AM)

Shaun, I am having a few issues with load balancing DNN.  In the Web Farm Support documentation there is a section that refers to a 'caching provider' directory.

Open the following text file in Notepad:
“$root\Providers\CachingProviders\BroadcastPollingCachingProvider\Providers\S
QLDataProvider\ 03.01.00.SqlDataProvider”

I am unable to find this directory to run the script mentioned.  I am wondering where it is and if this is what is causing my issues.

Please help!

Thanks,

Chas

Re: Shaun Walker please...

the $root refers to the folder you've installed dotnetnuke into i.e. if you've unzipped it to c:\dotnetnuke then the fully qualified folder path is C:\dotnetnuke\Providers\CachingProviders\BroadcastPollingCachingProvider\Providers\SQLDataProvider\03.01.00.SqlDataProvider

Re: Shaun Walker please...

I understand the $root, the issue is that all my installations of DNN, have the following in the providers directory:

DataProviders
HtmlEditorProviders
LoggingProviders

There is not a directory for 'CachingProviders'.

Re: Shaun Walker please...

Installing the BroadcastPollingCachingProvider seems to be a very integral part of setting up Web Farm support.  It states so in the documentation.  Is there not anybody out there that is load balancing DNN?  If this is not needed can we update the documentation?  If this is needed, someone please point me in the right direction of how/where to find the script I need to run to implement the BroadcastPollingCachingProvider.  Please
Chas
