Nav or SolPartMenu - RootOnly - Can't Click Admin?
Modified By AJ Walker on 1/30/2008 2:59:19 PM)

My designer came up with a concept that has two areas for a menu.  1. a horizontal root level menu and 2. a Vertical sub menu depending on the Root Level.  I know I saw this was "do-able" with SolPartMenu - so I ok'd the concept - and the client loves it.  Now I have to skin it.

As I'm trying to accomplish this - I noticed I cannot click the Admin or Host root level menu options to carry out any of their respective capabilities.  Because Admin isn't a clickable page - it's only has subpages under it.

Any suggestions?  Is this do-able with a different menu control?

I need a horizontal Main Menu with the Root Items - the Sub Menu(s) will appear vertically in a column - and I need the Admin and Host menu options still available to the Administrators/Hosts.

Please advise if I don't make sense!!!  Thanks!!!

Re: Nav or SolPartMenu - RootOnly - Can't Click Admin?

With Solpart or Nav you can do it by changing the Disable Link value in the database to True.

If you dont like to change in the database I sugest you add a page under one of the other pages with just admins right.

On that page you have an other skin with just one menu showing all pages.

I have sugested a change in core making it possible to change the DIsable link value inside DNN but with no luck. Maybee time to do an other try

I think there are other menues out there but just now I cant remember wich one.
