1 Pixel Gap in Skins

Hi Everyone,

I'm having a problem where when I create a skin for a website from an HTML and XML file, it is creating a 1 pixel gap in my skin. I am using dreamweaver to create my skins.

Examples can be seen here

http://208.106.183.150/debtconsolidation/tabid/55/Default.aspx (in the shadow area to the right of "I run my own business from home")

and here

http://209.200.118.209/ (above coming events).

These gaps are not present in my HTML file, but once I convert them to a skin, they appear. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: 1 Pixel Gap in Skins

Both FireFox and IE have a plug in for CSS "exploration" on a site.  IE's is Here: and FireFox's is Here:   You may already have them, but they should be able to help you find the issue.

Re: 1 Pixel Gap in Skins

If you view source from the generated file, you'll see the cause. It's mostly because you have loose tags in the Dreamweaver files.

A quick option would be to do a "Commands / Apply Source formatting" from Dreamweaver on the html skin files - this will close up the code and tags to eliminate the extraneous space characters that are breaking your layouts.

You can then re-upload the skins and the spacing should be eliminated.

Re: 1 Pixel Gap in Skins

Ok I was hoping this was the answer I have been looking for, but since I looked at the page he posted and still see the 1px gap between containers, I can only assume he either has not tried what you suggested, or it did not work, and since I tried what you suggested from dreamweaver and it did not work for me, I assume this is not the problem. I really need to find an answer for this as it is holding up development of this site. You can have a look at what I am trying to do at

http://a-1tourshawaii.com/ContactUs/tabid/488/Default.aspx

My containers need to stack tightly on top of each other with no gaps, and I have been reading and reading, trying to find the answer, with no luck. If you notice in the bottom right container that contains the feedback module there is NO gap between the bottom of it and the footer, but everywhere else there is.

Any ideas?
