Can we get some clarification on Search Engines and the various DNN Menu options?
Modified By abecedarian on 3/6/2008 11:46:00 PM)

My interpretation of the situation is that the olde SolPartMenu relies on quite a bit of javascript to perform its duties and the "preferred" 'NAV' menu doesn't require as much. Does anyone care to partake in the discussion about this?

My recknoning is that although the solpartmenu works, its use of scripting to operate appears 'pretty' and  works well for the user but not so well for the bots that traverse the sites since the bots don't really know that they have to 'hover' or 'click' on something in order to learn about the links behind the menu.

Am I on the right page or am I missing something?

The DNN [NAV] menu works to avoid that problem, no?

Re: Can we get some clarification on Search Engines and the various DNN Menu options?

I havent got much information but as far as I am aware GoogleBot can traverse the solpartmenu. I know this because I have made a skin with the solpartmenu and added some child pages that are accessed by the rollover dropdoen thingy and then I tested this with a sitemap service and all pages where traversed
