Error updating ANYTHING - have to click multiple times

I'm having a weird problem where I have to click links and buttons, anything with logic behind it, many times before the change will take effect. For example if I click add under pages in the control panel it just refreshes the screen. If I click it again, it MIGHT go to the add page screen. Then I'm lucky if the data I enter into the fields actually gets stored to the database. This happens when I'm adding products, managing tabs... anything. I've tried playing with the Host performance settings, setting up the schedule to purge the logs etc and I'm at a loss as to why I have to duplicate my efforts for everything I do. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

I enabled some of the scheduled job for purging in the Host settings and it seems to be going smoother. Man the event log gets so full so fast! I had to set it to purge every 30 minutes or it builds up and crashes my site. What is that all about? Can I just turn it off? Or would that be a bad idea?

I don't know what's wrong but I have experienced this issue. I have had the pages go completely unresponsive until I go back to the root of the portal by manually typing in the url.

Re: Error updating ANYTHING - have to click multiple times

The only time I have ran into the issue it boiled down to my host. I changed host and it all went away. The log file cleaning does help, as it frees up memory, you can cut the log files off if you want. I have done it numerous times to save on resources cause I really don't care about the logging. I never really cared about tracking half the stuff it does. Granted I don't have to do specialized marketing / client reporting on usage though. If your running into the issue though its possibly an issue with your host server not replying fast enough and the page times out on the server call cause the host has worker processes set to term after x seconds. Just a possible reason, there are quite a few.

I've tried everything I can think of and I'm at my wits end. This is a show stopper for me. I've changed the scheduler in so many different ways, tried using IE (cringe), and now even clearing the cache, logs and restarting the app doesn't help. It's been doing this ALL DAY TODAY. CAn you feel my frustration?

I guess I could try changing hosts. I'm with Reinvent. Anyone had problems with them? I KNOW PowerDNN is awesome, but they are $50/month for christ's sake.

to clarify on the situation...
