changing the color of  

i want to change the color of the date breadcrumb and register/username and login at the very top of the page but i can not figure out where to change these.

how do i change these as the dark blue does not show up very good on a black backgound

If you are creating the skin as an HTML page, you can include a skin.xml file that helps you change attributes of certain elements. An example for the Login token would be:

 

<Objects>
 <Object>
  <Token>[LOGIN]</Token>
  <Settings>
   <Setting>
    <Name>CssClass</Name>
    <Value>LoginStyle</Value>
   </Setting>
  </Settings>
 </Object>
</Objects>

Then you just create a new class in your CSS file named .LoginStyle  and set it's attributes there. There is a full breakdown of tokens and attributes in the skinning documentation, I also use http://www.thinkofdesign.com/resources/reference.html for some reference, but I believe it may be a bit out of date but it's still pretty handy to lookup values of each token.
