Adjusting pane width

A colleague and I have compared our DNN installations. His is on a local server. Mine is hosted off site.

When he puts modules in the center and left content pane, as an example, the right content pane is minimized.  Mine does not do that and I want it to.  Is this a DNN function that I need to set, or a host function?

Thanks.

Eileen

Re: Adjusting pane width

this needs to be implemented by the page skin applied.

Re: Adjusting pane width

Are both the same DNN version and the same skin?

Re: Adjusting pane width

No, they are both DNN skins, 3 column, just in different colors.    I am not sure if we have the same versions of DNN, however.  I have version 4.08.02.

I would just like to figure out what is my problem and what may be the version/host problem.  When I downloaded, only two DNN skins were loaded, and I understand that there are other basic ones available, I just haven't been able to them.  Also, the two skins I got as default all are 3 column, I would like two.

I have tried downloading other skins and cannot get them to be picked up, even though I believe I have followed the steps to the letter.  I am not of the experience to figure out what is wrong when it does not work, reading forums I often find the language beyond my skill level and I have no one locally to question.

Okay, I have vented.  I want very much to make this work, but I am losing incentive.

So the questions are:       What do I try to get additional DNN skins that will allow me to make adjustments to the panes?

Thank you.

Eileen

You can change any skin, but you do need some HTML / CSS knowledge. Read fixed post at the top of the forum for more info.

That one of the panes collapses if you add something to a contentpane is normally a feature of the skin as Sebastian stated before, that's why I asked if they are the same skin.
