Skin trouble

Sorry if this has been discussed before.  I'm have a server hosted on godaddy.  I'm trying to up load a skin.  i get the error message

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. ---> System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. at System.Security.CodeAccessSecurityEngine.Check(Object demand, StackCrawlMark& stackMark, Boolean isPermSet) at System.Security.CodeAccessPermission.Demand() at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.SkinController.UploadSkin(String RootPath, String SkinRoot, String SkinName, Stream objInputStream) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.FileSystem.WebUpload.cmdAdd_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) The action that failed was: Demand The type of the first permission that failed was: System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission The Zone of the assembly that failed was: MyComputer --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I contacted them and ask them to make sure that ASPNET and the networking service had full controll on dnn folder.  They say it does.  assuming that they correct what else can correct this?

Re: Skin trouble

I'm having a somewhat similar problem with uploading skins to godaddy.com with DNN installed by their automated install.  When I try to upload a skin in file manager with unzip checked for a skin, it objects to the .aspx file which is not included in the list of files I'm allowed to upload.  Seems like a host setting.

It may be that I'm simply not supposed to upload a skin with the file manager, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get to Admin >> skins for doing an upload.  I don't know if  godaddy has limited this option, but I suspect they have.

I'm in the process of trying to figure out where to manually put the skin files with an ftp program but am just not sure this is going to do the trick.

Best,

Steve

Re: Skin trouble

The host has to allow admin skin uploads or you cannot upload a skin from the admin > skins page.

Uploading the skin through the file manager will only work in pre 4.8.2 DNN.
