Re: Newbie Skinproblem

Now I have removed the HTML, Head and Body tags put everything in the root of the folder, fixed the paths in the css file adn renamed the htm file from skin.htm to Portal.htm and so on. Now the error message is gone.

But now when I choose the skin in the dropdownlist I get this:
No Skin Files Exist In Folder

??

Re: Newbie Skinproblem

Choose the skin, then choose Parse lower on the page, that will convert the HTML file into an ASCX file

Re: Newbie Skinproblem

Done that, same result: No Skin Exists In Folder..

I have uploaded a new zip file if anyone would like to take a look at it?

I have also tried a different folder structure:

The first had the skins folder as first level, now I tried with SMTF > skins > . Both installs without problems, but both do also get the "No Skin Exists In Folder" message

Re: Newbie Skinproblem

You are in the root of your skins folder and then select all and zip that correct.....if not then it can not look past the first folder once it extracts the files when you install it.........

also I delete the ascx file out of the one I am working on and then parse it once uploaded to set the ascx file so I dont have to rework it , I just started doing this as  I usually have been modding the default skins on the site it self, them I redo I load through the skins interface....Hope this makes sense, I had the same problem you had at first.....

Re: Newbie Skinproblem

Here is your problem, I believe: You have only one zip file and it contains no other zip files and too many folders.

Do this: select all the files in your skins directory and then zip them into a file called skins.zip (you can right click the selected file list, then sendto compressed folder). Now, take skins.zip and put it inside SMTF.zip file as the ONLY contents of SMTF.zip. Delete the other files/folders. You can also have an About.htm file in the SMTF.zip if you want to have the system show an about link below your thumbnail. You can also have a containers.zip in the SMTF.zip file if you want to include containers. But that's it. No other files or folders in SMTF.zip.

That should work.
