Container broke my skins pages???

Hi all,

I was playing with CSS containers (uploading, testing, deleting, uploading again...) and on one upload the process crashed and flashed an "Access Denied" to the container folder. Now I can't upload or change skins or containers.

I am using AD authentication so I think it may have bumped me back to my local PC account in the middle of the process (not positive about this but it is possible).

Has anyone experienced this? Does anything get written to the database when a skin is uploaded and parsed? Is there an easy way to clear out any debris left by a failed upload?

Any advice or assistance is greatly appreciated. I'd hate to have to do a reinstall...

Thanks,

Mike

Once you delete the container and skin folder using FTP to your portal - the portal will use default skin and containers

I don't have a problem with corrupted containers or skins. They work fine. When I click on "Upload Skin", "Upload Container", or try to change which skin or container set I am currently looking at in the Host->Skins page nothing happens.

Re: Container broke my skins pages???

I thought I had it fixed after restarting the server a couple times but I just duplicated the problem. I uploaded a container, tested it, made a couple changes to my local copy of the container, deleted the container on the server, tried to upload the container and it crashed. It told me that I did not have access to the container.css file on the server. I can not upload containers again. The container directory on the server is locked and I cannot delete it or view the contents (using an administrator account on the server).

The container still shows up on the drop down box but when I try to bring it up to delete it again it tells me this:

A critical error has occurred.
Access to the path 'c:\inetpub\dnn 4.8.2\portals\_default\containers\vii_containers_mahogany' is denied.

I'm still hoping someone can help me...

Re: Container broke my skins pages???

Looks like maybe a file didn't get deleted.  Check the file on the server, check permissions to the file and folder.

Jeff
