FeedBrowser and Forums do not display correctly in XHTML skin

I'm having a problem with the FeedBrowser and Forums not displaying correctly when using an XHTML skin. If I change the DOCTYPE to HTML Transitional, all is fine, but when I use XHTML DOCTYPE, the tabs in the FeedBrowser are not displayed horizontally and display without being skinned, and the rest of the feedbrowser is unskinned. Also in the Forums the tables are not drawn correctly, they are unfinished at the bottom right of each row. The XHTML skin is otherwise fully compliant, apart from on these pages.

Is the FeedBrowser dependent on HTML 4?

Re: FeedBrowser and Forums do not display correctly in XHTML skin
I've confirmed that this problem exists for me in third party skins, not just my own. Just adding a skin.doctype.xml file to the default DNN-Blue and DNN-Grey skins will also produce this same error with the feedbrowser. This is happening on clean installs of DNN too.

Re: FeedBrowser and Forums do not display correctly in XHTML skin

Hi Ryan,

I'm afraid that I'm not going to be able to yield much insight into the problem you're having, but wanted to suggest that you log this as a bug in the DNN Gemini system located at http://support.dotnetnuke.com.

Since work items are tracked on a per-project basis, you'll need to submit two issues: one for the feedbrowser and one for the forums.

Brandon

Re: FeedBrowser and Forums do not display correctly in XHTML skin

I found the solution to the feedbrowser problem in my case. In the settings for the Feedbrowser, the values of the Themes, platinum and graphite are lowercase, but need to be Title case in order to match the css classes in the javascript and css files.

In:

admin/syndication/feedbrowsersettings.ascx

Change:

<asp:DropDownList id="Theme" runat="server" CssClass="NormalTextBox" Width="250px">
                <asp:ListItem Value="platinum">Platinum</asp:ListItem>
                <asp:ListItem Value="graphite">Graphite</asp:ListItem>
</asp:DropDownList>

to

<asp:DropDownList id="Theme" runat="server" CssClass="NormalTextBox" Width="250px">
                <asp:ListItem Value="Platinum">Platinum</asp:ListItem>
                <asp:ListItem Value="Graphite">Graphite</asp:ListItem>
</asp:DropDownList>
