Change "Register" text in [User] object

I have the [User] object included on my main page.  I would like to adjust my skin so that when a user is logged in, they see their username, but when NOT logged in, they don't see anything.  Currently, if the user isn't logged in, they see a "Register" link.  I *thought* I had found where to edit the "Register" text (admin/skins/user.xml -> Text -> value = ".")  I tried re-parsing the skin with the new value, but it still shows the "Register" link.

Where else can I change the value of the text for the "Register" link?

Thanks,

CJ

Re: Change "Register" text in [User] object

Gotta love it when you find your own answer 5 minutes after posting to a forum for help.

To change the "Register" text displayed in the [USER] skin object, change the value in:

admin\Skins\App_LocalResources\User.ascx.resx  -> <data name = "Register.Text"><value>enter your text here</value></data>

Re: Change "Register" text in [User] object

When you are creating your skin, you can also modify this a couple of ways.  First, you can put this value in the skin.xml file.

    <Object>

<Token>[USER]</Token>

<Settings>

<Setting>

<Name>Text</Name>

<Value>Your Value</Value>

</Setting>

</Settings>

</Object>

The other way is only applicable when you are creating skins using the User Control method.

<dnn:USER runat="server" id="dnnUSER" text="Your Value" />
