Re: Container creation

There are quite a few resources available.  Look on this site, and also look at DNNCreative.com.  The latter is a subscription site (with some free content), but it has really specialized on skinning.

Re: Container creation

Root > Portals > _default > Containers

You can see all the container folders in there. Copy DNN-Blue folder and paste on the same place. Put a different name like "DNN-MyContainer". Then change the .ascx code & container.css - however you like. In the host & admin setting, chooes your customized container (yeah, you just created them in the DNN-MyContainer folder.).

Only thing you need in the DNN-MyContainer folder are two files - one .ascx file and container.css. The .ascx's name could be anything. You can name it "MyContainer.ascx". just dont' forget to select the container from admin/host setting.

I'll second DNNCreative.com, well worth a subscription for anyone beginning skinning.  Even if the exchange rate makes it seem like you're buying a new car...  :)

Nina Meiers used to have a decent tutorial at a www.xd.com.au but I can't seem to find it now.
