Solpart Menu and CSS override

Hello All

I have uploaded a custom skin package and defined classes in my skin.css for the SOLPART menu.

For some reasons, my skin.css classes gets overridden with ones from default.css found in portals/_default.

For now, i have to comment the menu classes in default.css to make it work.

Is there aworkaround with this ??

Appreciate any help

Cheers

Re: Solpart Menu and CSS override

--Nirbhay,

you are wrong about the statement, that your CSS classes are overwritten by the ones in default.css, it is just the other way round: CSS class properties from default.css are overwritten from class properties with same name of your skin.css, but notice:

  1. classes and properties are case sensitive
  2. only properties are overwritten, i.e. properties set in default.css, that are not set in your skin.css will combine with properties, defined in skin.css (or portal.css) for the same class

Re: Solpart Menu and CSS override

Thank You Sir !!

On Closer look, i found that i wasn't including some of the class properties in my css, hence the effect.

I appreciate your quick response. The explanation was very useful indeed.

Have a great Day

Re: Solpart Menu and CSS override
I'm having a similar problem, but I don't know what the class for the menu is called to replicate, then alter it.

What is it called?

Thanks,
Liam
