New to DNN and have question about making change to code behind page

I am new to DNN.  I am working on a site that has already been developed and deployed.  I need to add some code to a button click event ( the code behind portion of a .ascx control).  I have added the code already but I need to implement.  The problem is that the project is in 3.3.4 version of DNN and I can open it using VS .Net 2005 but if I try to create a new build for the whole project, well it has errors out the wazoo.  Is there a way just to implement the change to the code behind without recompiling the whole project.

Thanks,

Paul

Re: New to DNN and have question about making change to code behind page

DotNetNuke 3 is an ASP-Net 1.1. Application to be edited with VS 2003. In ASP.net 1.1, Code behind of all ascx files is compiled - i.e. there is no option to circumvent recompilation.
