Host Account suddenly turned into non-Admin

AFAIK, Host account normally set to admin too right? It happened to me when I'm developing custom modules for DNN. For some reason, after I deployed my module to the local web server and I refreshed it, my host account can only view public menu items and Host menu. There's no Admin menu showing, and some menu that's only visible to admin is hidden also.

It gets worse. In the Host menu, I tried to open "Host Accounts". I figured maybe I could just re-assign the host account to admin roles. Guess what, in Host Accounts, there's no single account showing up.

It happened to me twice. The most recent one can be fixed just be restarting the IIS. The previous one however, is quite annoying. I could only login as host account to add module definition and all. I couldn't even edit any single module in the page. I have to logout and login as admin to do that.

Anyone knows what might cause this problem?

Thanks

Re: Host Account suddenly turned into non-Admin

I would start by restarting IIS again to see if that fixes it.  I know in some versions of DNN there was a "caching" issue that caused some problems for host.

Otherwise, ensure that the record for host in the Users table has the IsSuperUser field set to 1

Re: Host Account suddenly turned into non-Admin

I checked the Users table, and host's account is still Super User. Besides, in other child portals, my host account can still act as admin. Only in this one parent portal that my host account couldn't act as admin account.

I'm really curious about this problem, since it happened out of nowhere. It would be quite annoying if it happens in the production server.

Btw, which DNN version that you mean (the one with caching issues)? The problem I described happened in DNN 4.7
