Upgrade from DNN 2.1.2 to 3.2.2

Hi all,

Im kinda beginner to DNN. Can anyone please tell me how to upgrade an existing application built upon DNN 2.1.2 to DNN 3.2.2. What are the necessary steps and how to perform them.

Any links or suggestions on that will be more than useful.

Thnx in Advance

Hameer

Re: Upgrade from DNN 2.1.2 to 3.2.2
In the document DotNetNuke Installation Guide.pdf, there's a chapter called "Upgrading to 3.x" or something. I think that would what you're asking for, right?

Re: Upgrade from DNN 2.1.2 to 3.2.2

Thnx for your reply.

I think that is it.

Does this also upgrade all the core modules?

What if we also have our custom built modules bieng used on the site. What would be the effect?

How to upgrade the custom built modules. Does they need an upgrade?

Best Regards,

Hameer

Re: Upgrade from DNN 2.1.2 to 3.2.2
When upgrading from DNN 2 to 3, there where some breaking changes causing DNN2 modules to fail in DNN3. So they all (not only the core) need to be upgraded. The described upgrade will upgrade all core modules I think. Before upgrading you can check the Install folder to see what modules are included for the upgrade.

Thnx for the reply.

So far i m at the conclusion that the upgrade process will upgrade the core modules too.

So if we want to change the custom built modules what steps should be taken?

Hameer Saleem
