Web User Control within custom module

Hello,

I am trying to use a Web User Control, Measure.ascx, within a custom module, FireDistrictArcGISViewer.ascx.  DotNetNuke does not seem to recognize the WebUser Control.  Measure.ascx and FireDistrictArcGISViewer.ascx are in the same folder, C:\DotNetNuke\DesktopModules\FireDistrictArcGISViewer.

Here are the relevant snippets from FireDistrictArcGISViewer.ascx:

@ Register src="Measure.ascx" tagname="Measure" tagprefix="uc1" %><uc1:Measure ID="Measure1" runat="server" AreaUnits="Sq_Miles" MapBuddyId="Map1" MapUnits="Resource_Default" MeasureUnits="Miles" NumberDecimals="3" />

Here is the error that I get:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Could not load type 'Measure'. ---> System.Web.HttpParseException: Could not load type 'Measure'. ---> System.Web.HttpParseException: Could not load type 'Measure'. ---> System.Web.HttpException: Could not load type 'Measure'. at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.GetType(String typeName, Boolean ignoreCase, Boolean throwOnError) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ProcessInheritsAttribute(String baseTypeName, String codeFileBaseTypeName, String src, Assembly assembly) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.PostProcessMainDirectiveAttributes(IDictionary parseData) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ProcessException(Exception ex) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseStringInternal(String text, Encoding fileEncoding) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseString(String text, VirtualPath virtualPath, Encoding fileEncoding) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ProcessException(Exception ex) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseStringInternal(String text, Encoding fileEncoding) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseString(String text, VirtualPath virtualPath, Encoding fileEncoding) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseFile(String physicalPath, VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseInternal() at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.Parse() at System.Web.Compilation.BaseTemplateBuildProvider.get_CodeCompilerType() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvider.GetCompilerTypeFromBuildProvider(BuildProvider buildProvider) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvidersCompiler.ProcessBuildProviders() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvidersCompiler.PerformBuild() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Re: Web User Control within custom module

Hi Chris

Appears that the problem is in your Mesaure.ascx declaration, and may not have anything to do with FireDistrictArcGISViewer.ascx.

Try posting the @Control declaration from Measure.ascx, along with the namespace and class declaration from the codebehind.  I suspect you might have a mismatch there.

Brandon
