Try running your main user control with this tool : http://help.speerio.net/filemanagerpro/250/dnn/Resources/DNNDebug.aspx.htm

It sometimes gives you further details on your error.

Re: ERROR: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: type at ...CreateInst

Check in your dataprovider that you have the correct namespace and assemblyname in the Create Provider Sub

Private Shared Sub CreateProvider()

objProvider = CType(Framework.Reflection.CreateObject("data", "Namespace", "AssemblyName"), DataProvider)

End Sub

Thanks for the tip. I did what you suggested and first made sure I was doing things right by using a standard DNN .ascx control. It worked. I then tried mine and got the following message:

Hmmm... That link is not working for me.  And when I try to "fix" it, I get a page not found error from a ticket system. (Redirect on the domain)
