Re: Output Parameter

Thanks so much Stefan for your input.  But doesn't executeNonQuery return no resultset?  I need to return a result set along with my output parameters.  I've come across this statement and not sure how to implement - anyone suggest?

"You need to replace this procedure: SqlHelper.ExecuteReader with one that will pass the variable by reference.  SqlHelper don't have one that I know of, so you need to write one of your own"

Suggestions?

Re: Output Parameter

Hey . . . . Is there any project in the core that mimics what I'm trying to do here?

Re: Output Parameter
Sorry and I really don't want to peeve you though the main focus will be the new DNN release for the next days. Your problem is not really DNN related, it is more about using ADO.NET. Perhaps you will realize this as chance to do it on your own. Just my two cents and not speaking for anybody else.

forms & Lists (UDT5.0) will be the next major release of the User Defined Table project.
A first Preview is available, though it requires DotnetNuke 5 (Beta 5).

Re: Output Parameter

Wow . . . didn't realize the entire forum was working on the new release.  Isn't this a forum for all developers or just core developers?  I have done this before in a standard aspx with ADO.NET - just couldn't work it into the DNN framework.  I have been working on this for 3 days now, guess I change direction.  I just can't stand not figuring something out - bugs me.  I have read through every post both on this forum and ASP.NET and not one good explanation on how to do this.

Just trying to participate in the community and hopefully someone will learn through my documented learning experience.  So sorry to have bugged you Stefan.

Re: Output Parameter

If you have no problem in a standard aspx, why don't you use the same routine as before. Nobody forces you to use the Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data namespace.

It might help to google for Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data and output parameter. It is not really DNN related. Have a look at http://weblogs.asp.net/tgraham/archive/2003/05/14/7031.aspx, this might help.
