Re: Custom Membership Provider & Roles - Roles aren't accessable after logging in

But I want the pages to be visible after the user is logged in.  I'm just baffled why this doesn't work.  I ran some queries and the user is tied to the role and the role is tied to the page.  You put that code in the page load of each module?  SO then how is the page visible?  Is there something in the web.config that makes the roles turn on?

Re: Custom Membership Provider & Roles - Roles aren't accessable after logging in

Read my previous message.

You have to clear all the CACHE and cookie entries listed in my email above.

If you dont do that then the roles info will not be updated ...

DNN caches the current users ROLE info in a cookie to reduces io overhead from request to request.
This cookie has a 1 minute timeout - so unless you clear this cookie then the OLD role info will be
used when your page gets redrawn.

So that block of code will then reset the roles?  What do I declare or dim rather DataCache as?

Re: Custom Membership Provider & Roles - Roles aren't accessable after logging in

datacache is part of the dnn framework.  it is available in any module instanced if portalmodulebase.

You may need to import

Imports

DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities

But that should be all
