adding server scripts to my skin

hallo,

this is the problem: I would like a script to look in a specific directory, loop through the files (images) and get their names into an array. Then I would use this array to set randomly a background image to an element of the page. I think this can be done by adding a server script to my skin. Do you an example of how to add a script and how a script would look? I know it's a very vague question, but I need some starting points... thanks

forms & Lists (UDT5.0) will be the next major release of the User Defined Table project.
A first Preview is available, though it requires DotnetNuke 5 (Beta 5).

Re: adding server scripts to my skin

I read it, but I'm not sure what it means: am I not allowed to add scripts in my skin because of security reasons? I did add some javascripts in my pages and they function well. I also used, from time to time, when needed some code like this: <%=PortalSettings.ActiveTab.TabName %>  in order to get some specific info from the portal, and it also works.... So I don't exactly know what I can do and what I cannot,  by using scripts.

Re: adding server scripts to my skin

This sort of thing would be much better handled by a SKIN object - instead of in a embedded script.
A SKIN object also provided integrate with DNN and access to the api
