Re: Rainbow Modules to DNN

Hi Chris,

I would say roughly half are complex and the other half are simplye. We do have a lot of custome modules (somewhere between between 40 and 50). They are all written in C# and most of them are based on Rainbow core classes. Most of the time they deal with managing lists of information so there is a display ASCX, an edit ASPX, an insert ASPX, etc. Depending on the type of data there may be several ASCX files for diplaying the information in different ways.

Does this help you come up with some additional ideas?

Regards, Todd.

Re: Rainbow Modules to DNN

Hey Sebastian,

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if you have (or know somebody) who has done such a conversion. We would be willing to pay somebody for an initial consultation on the process you (they) used and all the lessons learned.

Let me know.

Thanks Todd.

Re: Rainbow Modules to DNN

Are these all individual projects currently? or are they all within one project, or within the rainbow solution itself?

I haven't worked with Rainbow in years, and when I did I didn't get into development on it much.

Sorry, Todd,

I never worked with rainbow, we only investigated it ~4 years ago, when we decided to follow the DotNetNuke trail.

Re: Rainbow Modules to DNN

Hi Chris,

They are all included in the rainbow project. Rainbow (like DNN) has a subfolder called DesktopModules and this is where all the custom modules are along with all the canned modules.

Regards, Todd.
