DNN Performance

Hi All,

I am new to DNN...I have created a modules where there is a datagrid and I have given an Edit functionality to each row as provided by datagrid. When ever I click on edit link it takes almost 2-3 min to show up the edit text box.

Can any one help me out?? Is there any chance I can increase the performance.

I am using datatable to bind with datagrid.. there is only 4 columns and hardly 20 rows in a datatable.

Thanks for help,
Anoop

Re: DNN Performance
First off, don't use a DataGrid. Second, don't use a DataSet. Both of these are hogs. Honestly, tho, I doubt your problem is either of these. There are a ton of things that you could do to increase performance, but very few are DNN-specific. You're going to need to implement some instrumentation to determine where the bottleneck is in order to know what needs fixin'.

Re: DNN Performance
Hi Anoop,

i don't think that's a problem of the DataGrid or the DataSet. Try to debug your module step by step and find out, which line causes the time consumption.
e.g. if it hangs at the DataGrid.DataBind() method it is likely that it could be a database issue.

Have luck
Markus
