Debugging madness

Hi,

i know this is something stupid, but just can't locate where to set it  up.

I have my "dev" directory Hit F5 to debug, everything compiles no problem then fires up, VS05 fires up its developement Server @ port whatever...

-->> localhost:2006/mydnn --> breakpoints "active" then switches to

-->> localhost/mydnn --> breakpoints "de-activates" then switches to

-->> mycomputername/mydnn --> breakpoints "de-activate"

I've remove all alias's in DNN's portal list, except for mycomputername/mydnn, but no luck

do i add a localhost:1628/mydnn to the  alias list ???

Can someone kindly direct me to/or explain how to Debug:

Thanks

Johnny

Re: Debugging madness
What it says when breakpoints "de-activate"? you can move your mouse over the break-point in debug mode, it shoud tell you something.

hi,

The breakpoint will currently not be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document

Re: Debugging madness
that usually because the DLL under the bin folder of your website is complied by "release". check if those DLL is complied by "debug", if it doesn't work, you probably could re-complie it and put it to your bin folder again.

Re: Debugging madness

Hi,

i recomplied the framework and xfered to my site, but still the same thing. i think the issue lyes with the site changing urls.

when i hit F5:

Web Page Shows-->> localhost:1628/mydnn (you can the VS05 status bar saying "loading symbols"...)

then the page goes to -->> localhost/mydnn

then jumps to --> localhost/mysitename

Notes:

- i have IIS installed on my dev system

- i have a website called localhost/mysitename (c:\inetpub\wwwroot\mysitename)

- i have a dev directory with the same files+src, that is where i do my dev (e:\dev\mydnn\website) - when i hit F5, this is where i am at... hence it starts the VS05 server with localhost:1628/website

- There is no IIS virtual directory called "website", but there is one called mysitename (which is my "live/test" site)
