form.ascx.vb missing

I have followed Shaun's document - scenario #2 but for some reason that escapes me my module throws an exception stating that the view....ascx.vb file is missing.

I have published the site, as instructed, and created the relevant entries in the DNN file. I have also copied the required dlls etc into the zip.

I am using 2 DNN sites on my local machine. One containing the DNN source where the module was developed and another containing the DNN install release where I test modules.

After uploading the module and placing it on a page I get the error when I browse to the page.

Have I missed something? I have re-read the document but can't see where I may have gone wrong. Why is it looking for .vb file if this is compiled into dll?

Declan

Re: form.ascx.vb missing

Probably a namespace issue. make shure your DLL doesn't prefix your namespaces with another namespace

It asks for the vb file because it can't find the class it's supposed to inherit from

Re: form.ascx.vb missing
Purplebox,

If so I can't see the error.

These are the relevant lines from my files:

App_Code
.vb file (Controller)

Namespace dws.Modules.ReportSelection

    Public Class ReportSelectionController

DesktopModules
.ascx
<%@ Control language="vb" Inherits="dws.Modules.ReportSelection.ViewReportSelection"
    CodeFile="ViewReportSelection.ascx.vb" AutoEventWireup="false" Explicit="True" %>

.ascx.vb
Namespace dws.Modules.ReportSelection

    Partial Class ViewReportSelection

DLLs
App_SubCode_ReportSelection.dll
App_Web_viewreportselection.ascx.2ae62e86.dll

Is all this case sensitive?

Declan
