I will pay you if you spend a couple hours training me on some simple...

I need someone to get on Phone or Skype with me and walk me through creating some simple modules for my DNN site. I will pay you well for your time. No questions asked.

I have a simple module I will want to use for training purposes.
Just a db query that pulls up a random image from a a table with image link and description.
Maybe after that we can do more lessons. I suspect it will take an hour or two.

I want to go from start to finish creating the module and deploying it.

I prefer someone that can speak english well and lives in North America, but if it has te overseas that's ok too.
Please email me at matthewc02@msn.com if you're interested in helping me with this. We can use remote assitance or VNC or something for the session. I have pay, visa, mastercard etc.

Re: I will pay you if you spend a couple hours training me on some simple...

Before you spend any money, you can spend about 2 hours going through these tutorials in this order:

  • Super-Simple Module (DAL+)
  • Super-Fast Super-Easy Module (DAL+)
  • Create a full complete Module
  • The first tutorial should take you about 15 minutes and answer most of the questions that a programmer has about how a DotNetNuke module works. the second will walk you through a complete module, and the third will cover creating a Setings and Edit page.

I have also created a new version of the classic "Survey Module" this link. This has a lot of sample code that can help you out.

DotNetNuke module development is not hard. In the past the configuration and set-up were the problem areas. This has been eliminated by the recent advancements.

Re: I will pay you if you spend a couple hours training me on some simple...

Well the documentation looks great....I'd really like to at least try it out but it looks like that's all written for DNN4+. )-:
I'm currently running DNN3.2.2 with tons of modules. Is it likely they will all function in DNN4.02 or is it likely I will be up the creek there as well? Also if I do need to upgrade is there some good documentation on doing that?

I think my original idea of paying someone to show me how to do this may still be the best solution, but I'm certainly willing to try this stuff first.

    thx

mostly DNN3 modules work with DNN4 as well - but you cannot install source version and cannot compile the modules using VS2005. AFAIR there are training videos available at TrainCert.
