Inter Module Communication while processing 

Hi
I have a portal with 2 modules, one for details and one with the summary. On postback one module does all the processing work, but afterwards, some details should be shown in the details module and some in the summary module. So when the summary module is done with all the processing, I want the details module to pick up the results and display it too. Is this possible in any built in way? I've seen IMC, but that seems more for post-backs and stuff.

I know I could use threats and wait for a signal, but that sounds a bit complicated.

Any ideas?
