Modifying login authentication

We host a private authentication site and want to be able to send an email + attachment to a second admin account when the first site adminstrator authenticates the new registered user.  I'm not sure where to start looking to modify the code to do this.  Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Re: Modifying login authentication

Instead of modifying the dnn core code (which you'd have to repeat every release) why not consider the UCanUse User Attributes module?  We have free IMC email plug in that lets you send mail anywhere you want; it offers many other features like allowing users to register with just an email address and it is fully extensible through IMC plugins that are easy to develop.  Visit www.UCanUse.com or www.Snowcovered.com for more information if you are interested.
