Problem setting up a site using Visual Studio 2005

I am new to DotNetNuke, and am looking at trying to create my own module.  I have downloaded the Module Development guide, and am following it's instructions for setting up a site within Visual Studio 2005, and am having some problems.

I copied the DotNetNuke install files to a directory, and loaded that directory with Visual Studio.  I then "Start Without Debugging".  At this point a server is launched, and a browser window is opened which goes to the site.  I then get the install page for DotNetNuke.  The first thing that is wrong, is that all of the graphic links are broken, so no images are displayed.

If I try to continue with the install anyway, I get as far as the "Run Database Installation Scripts" page.  This process never finishes.

Does anyone have an idea about what I might be doing wrong.  Note, that I have previously successfully installed DotNetNuke on a real web server so I am pretty sure that I have the correct installation files.

Thanks.

John Gaby

Re: Problem setting up a site using Visual Studio 2005

Ok, first. you have permission problems. Your images doesn't display because the security settings in the folder are wrong. Check the security settings of the folder you have the DNN files.

Second, the only times that I have problems running the SQL scripts is when I try to install DNN on a non-english Windows. Do you have another version of windows: spanish, portuguese?

Greetings

Re: Problem setting up a site using Visual Studio 2005
Thanks for the reply.  I found that if I used the 'Auto' selection for the install, that it would work.  Also, oddly enough, once the install was complete, all of the image links now work.  I have no explanation for why they didn't work before the install, but did after.  Anyway, I now have it working.  Thanks again.
