Re: How to setup a 404 error page?

the default text for the 404 page is actually part of the localised text. If you use the language editor and browse to the globalresources , you can edit the 404.Error text.

Re: How to setup a 404 error page?

Additionally, you can specify the error page on the web.config file like this:

    <customErrors mode="On">
      <error statusCode="404" redirect="~/404.aspx"/>
    </customErrors>

You can also specify error pages for the Internal Server Errors:

      <error statusCode="500" redirect="~/500.aspx"/>

Hope this helps

Cathal, has DNN always redirected 404 pages to the homepage? I never noticed that, but I just tried it on PokerDIY (4.8.2) and it does redirect to the home page. Still deciding if I like this or not ;)

Thanks,
Rodney

Re: How to setup a 404 error page?

Rodney, I'm not sure what you mean, i've just tried http://www.pokerdiy.com/somepage.aspx and get a 404. Perhaps you mean the fallback for non-existant tab's i.e. http://www.pokerdiy.com/tabid/123456789/Default.aspx ?
