Unicode sql scripts not supported? 

I was having a hell of a time trying to install my module after I packaged it. I kept getting this error:

Unhandled Error

Error Details

File  
Error   '.', hexadecimal value 0x00, is an invalid character.

 

I finally figured out that saving the sql script files as UTF-8 fixed it. As Unicode is the default format my text editor uses I find it strange that I'm not seeing this issue in the forums. Hopefully will help out someone going through the same thing.

By the way, is there a reason the DNN team doesn't use the Active Forums module? It took me almost a half hour to post a reply in these forums because of timeouts. And what's with the two big gray "INSERT" buttons below the editor?

The Dotnetnuke.com website is using the core DNN forums module.  Hopefully in the near future this site will be upgraded to use the new version of the forums that has been in the pipeline for while now as it should fix some of the issues that currently exist.
