Admin account breaks, Host still works. All modules content hiddon.

I've had a very strange bug come up twice now, and I have yet to find a solution.

When the administrator account signs into the website, all module content disapears...  The container still exists, I can edit properties of the module, but in all modules content is not returned in view or edit mode.  The host account works fine, and using it I created a new administrator account for the portal.  The new administrator account works fine, but the original admin account is broke.

This happened on a single portal in a single application on an application where I have a number of third party and custom desktop and HTTP modules, and I had no idea how to reproduce the issue on another system; so I haven't reported the problem yet, although it appeared a few months ago.

Just in the last two weeks i've had the same thing happen on a completely different installation.  This new installation is running core modules only (forums, blogs, text/html).  It was configured with all default settings...

I tried upgrading to 4.6.2 but this did not solve the problem.

Has anybody else experienced anythign like this?

It sounds like you have activated "Design" mode.

In the control panel there is a button labeled "Design" click that button and everything should be back to normal!
