Testing New Modules

What is the recommended way to test new modules without crashing the whole site?

Re: Testing New Modules

If you can I'd setup a completely seperate site on a local computer (or a mirror of the production site) for testing purposes.

Re: Testing New Modules

If I simply export the portal can I use it as a template?

Re: Testing New Modules

I setup a site that is a copy of the production site.  You can simply backup the production site and restore it to your local machine and the you have a mirror copy.

I then test everything on that environment to make sure it is functional, then deploy to production.

If you need help with backup/restore I have tutorials available on my website http://www.mitchelsellers.com
