How to add FCKEditor

DNN 4.8 - .NET 2.0

VS2008

I have created a module and on this module I want to add FCKEditor - how do I do that?

I have added DotNetNuke.FckHtmlEditorProvider.dll to the Tool box in VS and draged it on to a web form, but when I run the program I get HTTP 404 error where the FCKEditor control is.

What am I doing wrong? I want to achive the same results as the Add/Edit Post page in this forum.

Thank You

Peter

Re: How to add FCKEditor

it is usually more advisable to add the texteditor control to your module, which encapsulates the currently installed htmleditorprovider, so all modules use the same editor, configured in web.config.

Re: How to add FCKEditor

Hi Peter,

As Sebastian mentioned, you want to use the DNN TextEditor control.  I suggest you download the source for the Forums module and look at "Forum_PostEdit.ascx".  Search for "TextEditor" and you will find that it is very easy to implement.

Basically there is a "register" entry to register the external control and then you just place it on the form where you want it.  Also, you should look at "Forum_PostEdit.vb" so see how the properties of the control are used.

Hope this helps,

Chuck R
