Field Validation and Cancel Button

I have a form that has fields on it.  Some fields requires validation.  My validation works fine when clicking on my UPDATE button except on clicking CANCEL  button.

When I click CANCEL the fields are still being validated in contrast to what I want to happen.  If I click CANCEL, it should direct me back to previous page which works well if I dont have field validations on my form.

Please advise what should be on my CANCEL button.

Re: Field Validation and Cancel Button

How did you create your form? Did you develop it as a module? If so you should be able to put a property on the button that tells it not to validate

Off the top of my head I think it's "causesvalidation=false"
